John-Paul Lavoisier was born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, the main filming location town of the 1958 sci-fi film The Blob. He spent a great deal of his late childhood and young adult years performing magic tricks and playing the drums for pretty much anyone that would watch and listen. He and his bunny rabbits could be spotted on any given weekend performing at kids birthday parties and the drum-set would pop-up on evenings playing jazz in a coffee shop or banquet venue. With no other abilities or dreams to consider, and fueled by his love for the band Rush, Lavoisier moved to Center City Philadelphia after high school to study music at The University of the Arts. It was there that he discovered his passion for films and realized Manhattan was only two hours away where he could try his hand at acting.

Almost immediately after landing in New York, Lavoisier began booking student films, print ads, extra work, small venue theatre shows, infomercials and even a romance novel cover, all while paying the rent by waiting tables at The Russian Tea Room. After calling his basement one bedroom in Astoria, Queens home for about a year, he auditioned for ABC’s "One Life to Live” where he played Rex Balsom for 10 years until the show ended in 2011. He later was cast to play the role of Philip Kiriakis on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives."

Lavoisier lives in Los Angeles, California. He spends much of his time reading novels, exercising, golfing, and hosting the occasional poker game. He can often be found running the paved roads of Beverly Hills or the dusty trails at Runyon Canyon.
