Jay Brazeau’s love affair with acting began in childhood. His extensive credits span virtually every entertainment medium, from acting on stage and in film, television and radio plays, animated features and television series; to writing and directing. Feature credits include, most recently, The Shack, as well as The Watchmen, Status Update, Insomnia, Head Over Heels, Double Jeopardy, Best in Show, We’re No Angels, Snow Falling on Cedars, National Lampoon’s Ratko, Far Cry, Christmas Cottage, Kissed, Little Women, and Andre. He was a voice actor in the Oscar®-nominated animated shorts The Playroom and The Big Snit. In 2007, he received the Vancouver Film Critics Award in recognition of his significant body of work. Four years later, he won the Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Male for the feature Fathers & Sons. Brazeau also has his own place on the British Columbia Walk of Fame.

His television mini-series credits include Steven Spielberg’s “Taken” and “Masters of Horror.” He received a Gemini Award nomination for his work on the SyFy series “Stargate SG-1” and co- starred for three seasons on the hit Canadian series “Cold Squad.” Brazeau has had leading and co-starring roles in numerous television movies, including “Maple Bay Lodge,” “The Diary of Evelyn Lau,” “The Stranger Beside Me,” “A Very Muppet Christmas,” “Murder at the Cannes Film Festival,” “Saint Sinner,” “The Competition,” “Murder on Spec” and “Bye Bye Birdie.” He has guest starred on a range of television series, among them “Bates Motel,” “Supernatural,” “Eureka,” “Blood Ties,” “Psych,” “Stargate Atlantis,” “X-Files” and “The West Wing.” He has been seen in recurring roles on “Rogue,” “Opus,” “Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove” and “Cold Squad.”

Brazeau was seen in 10 previous installments of “Garage Sale Mysteries”: “The Deadly Room,” “The Wedding Dress,” “Guilty Until Proven Innocent,” “The Art of Murder,” “The Beach Murder,” “Murder by Text,” “Murder Most Medieval,” “A Case of Murder,” “The Pandora’s Box Murders” and “The Mask Murder.”

Brazeau has won numerous theater honors, including Jessie Richardson Awards for his performances in Edward Albee’s The Goat and as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. He recently helped develop the new play The Cat Came Back and the world premiere of George F. Walker’s King of Thieves. Among his many stage credits are Hairspray, The Producers, Fiddler on the Roof, The Drowsy Chaperone, Death of a Salesman, Urinetown and 999, A Saga.
