Andy Griffith has had a long and impressive career spanning over 50 years. Probably best known for his work in Matlock and his other popular TV series, The Andy Griffith Show, Griffith’s background was originally in Broadway. Moving from the small screen to the big screen, Griffiths made his film debut in the provocative and prophetic A Face in the Crowd in the late 1950s. A talented musician and singer, Griffith recorded a gospel album, "I Love To Tell The Story" in 1996 that became a hit and won a Grammy. He also garnered acting honros with an Emmy for his portrayal in Murder in Texas in 1981 and later a People’s Choice Award.
