Angela Lansbury

Angela Lansbury was born in London and came to America after the beginning of the Second World War. Her career was well and truly established with performances in such memorable films as "Gaslight," for which she was nominated for an Academy Award in 1944. Her resume reads like A-List of films including "The Picture of Dorian Gray," "The Harvey Girls," "National Velvet," "Samson and Delilah" and "The Manchurian Candidate."

Her film career has spanned over fifty years, most recently in 2005 Nanny McPhee and the upcoming “Mr. Popper’s Penguins,” starring Jim Carrey.  On Broadway, her most recent appearances include 2007's "Deuce," 2009's "Blithe Spirit," and 2010's "A Little Night Music." Lansbury has been nominated for three Academy Awards and was awarded an honorary C.B.E. by Queen Elizabeth II. She is also the recipient of five Tony Awards and six Golden Globes.
