The vivacious Poppy Montgomery has been starring in the CBS drama “Unforgettable,” for the last three seasons. She plays Carrie Wells, a former police detective with a rare ability that allows her to remember every day of her life. “Unforgettable” will return to A&E this year.
Prior to this, Montgomery transformed herself to play JK Rowling, the beloved author of the Harry Potter series, in the Lifetime biopic “Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story.” She also developed and produced the Lifetime pilot "An Amish Murder" starring Neve Campbell.
For seven seasons, Montgomery graced the small screen as FBI agent Samantha Spade in the popular CBS drama “Without a Trace.” Her on-screen romance with costar Anthony LaPaglia (Jack) captured the hearts of viewers throughout the years and created a powerful ending for fans in the series finale.
On the big screen, Montgomery’s feature credits include the independent film “Between,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Other film credits include Garry Marshall's "The Other Sister" and the Eddie Murphy comedy "Life."
Montgomery received critical acclaim for her edgy breakout performance as Marilyn Monroe in the CBS movie “Blonde.” Entertainment Weekly touted, “It's clear that actress Poppy Montgomery really 'gets' Oates' Monroe from the nuanced, heroic performance she gives.”
A native of Sydney, Montgomery moved to Los Angeles at 18.
