Born in Brooklyn, New York, Aloma Wright left at an an early age when her parents divorced and was raised in California from the age of six on. She graduated from Dominguez High in Compton and went on to continue her studies at Foothill Junior College in Los Altos, which is where she discovered her love of theater. She soon decided that if theater was her goal, New York needed to be the destination. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York, she toured with Aint Misbehavin’ before returning home to Los Angeles.

Wright has been seen in many films, including Mr. Deeds, The Brothers, The Gospel, Johnson Family Vacation and Deliver Us from Eva, among others.

Her television work is also extensive. For seven seasons, she was Nurse Roberts on the hit comedy “Scrubs” and also appared as Nurse Maxine for seven seasons on “Days of our Lives.” In 2015, she joined the cast of USA Network’s hit show “Suits” where she delighted fans as Gretchen Bodinsky in the series’ final four seasons. Additional small-screen work includes guest-starring appearances on “The Guestbook,” “Lucifer” and Mindy Kaling’s show “Champions” as well as roles in television movies including “Baking Christmas” and “The Christmas Edition.”

Wright is currently a series regular on Tyler Perry's "Young Dylan” on Nickelodeon.
